I’ve traveled all over the states and throughout Europe and the only place that comes near is certain parts of London.
My girlfriend lives in St Louis so I have spent more time in this American city then any other so it might just be that all American cities are this bad but so far I have only experienced it here.
Crime is everywhere but it does seem to be worse here, although less pick pockets. My girlfriend had a gun pulled on her because a man didn’t want to queue up for gas and wanted to take her place, the gas station was only 2c cheaper than the one across the road. I appreciate that this is only one incident but I have heard of plenty more. I’ve even seen a large fight in Morgan street brewery.

Wow, that’s a pretty sick question…but a good one! Let me see…I always thought it would be cool to go up against Freddy Krueger in my dreams. In my mind, I always win that battle, but if you’re saying I should let him win for once, how does this sound:
I’m an artist in real life. In my dream I’m working on a sculpture at the local community college after hours. Nobody else is around. Suddenly, outside the studio doors, I hear that screeching metal sound of his claws. I go out into the hallway to see what it is, and there’s Freddy silhouetted at the end of the hallway. He chases me through the school corridors until finally, he catches me back in the studio. He somehow renders me immobile, and then uses his glove to carve off my skin and shape me into a hideous bloody creation.
Back in the “waking” life, where I had fallen asleep in a chair in the studio while working on my sculpture, my sleeping/dreaming body is carving itself up with the carving knife, and half of my skin-shavings are scattered on the floor among the clay-shavings of my sculpture. My face is all carved up, and I’m losing a ton of blood. That’s when Freddy could make a clever joke about a “carving artist” or say something like “You should thank me. This will “single-handedly” increase the value of your work.” Then I die.
What do you think?

Why does the Income Tax deadline fall in April?
It is probably because there needs to be sufficient time to provide individual taxpayers with the information they need to prepare their own income tax returns. Speaking for the US (since I don’t have any knowledge of how Canada’s taxation works), there is also the fact that most pass-through entities like trusts, partnerships and S-corporations are generally required to operate on a calendar year. There needs to be enough time after December 31 for them to finish their year-end reconciliations, prepare the entity tax return, and then provide the necessary information to the partners, shareholders, or beneficiaries.
Certainly, at SOME point they had to just say “How about such-and-such for a deadline?” But the basic idea was probably that 3-4 months should be enough time for all the required information to be delivered to individual taxpayers so they can prepare their own tax returns.

It is very difficult to become a biologist who ONLY specializes in one animal, especially ones that readily found everywhere in the world. You would have to go to school and obtain your Bachelor of Science degree (usually a 4 year program), in biology, zoology, wildlife management, or some other similar major. You would then have to start interning with biologists who already works with wolves. Keep in mind it may be hard to find someone to work with as many biologists are not willing to train others as you will eventually be competition. As far as working with pets…this would be completely different training.. see website below for more info:

Yes, absolutely no doubt whatever. The vision disturbance and a sickley almost electric type headache are all symptoms of a migraine.
They can vary from mild to suicidal and can last for weeks in some people, they are always accompanied with the flashing lights which go away prior to the headache.
Symptoms can vary from just a dull headache and nausia to
slurred speech, difficulty walking and numbness down one side of the body to pain so severe it is totally disabling and people want to kill themselves, very nasty. Fortunately I don’t get that bad but I have just recovered from one that lasted 5 days and I get all the other symptoms that I mentioned in one form or another.
Migraines are usually associated with food allergies or intolerances, chocolate and dairy being the worst. I have found that because migraines are a nuerological complaint and they effect your entire nervous system including the nerves to your bowel, hence the nausia, that laxatives can break the cycle of the migraine upsetting your bowel which in turn feeds your migraine.
Hope this helps, Jules

Dear Meow,
Yes!!!
Everybody start working as a probation officer.
An officer means a professional and administrator and a manager.
Of course it is a career in life.
It is not a Clerical job or an odd job.
That’s why the name is “Officer”
‘Probation’ means Testing;
A time of testing; At certain time. (later becoming a full
member of a profession)
The procedure is such everywhere on earth. You can’t hate the Job. It’s a policy. Whether you like it or not, if you want the job, you have to face and take it. e.g. in school. Every pupil must go to Primary 1, a year later to Primary 2.
No body’s perfect and can do a job perfect on the first day at work. Working experience develop an officer skills. Normally a probation period is from a year to 3 years. On completion of a year, assessment will be made on the officer. In the assessment for over a year working is satisfied, a confirmation will be given. If not, the second or the third year. If all the three years are not satisfied, most probably the officer will be ask to leaves or working on temporary basic.

If you are just visiting Germany, you should get an international driver’s license which is really a translation of your US license into other languages so that the local police can read it.
If you will be in Germany for more than 6 months, you have to get a German driver’s license or get a special extension that is good for up to a total of 364 days.
The level of pain and cost in getting a German license depends on whether or not your state has a “reciprocal agreement” with Germany. That is right .. it is on a state-by-state basis. You can get all the details at
http://germany.usembassy.gov/germany/services/drivers_license.html
Now, remember regardless of which way you go, you really SHOULD learn the rules of the road in Germany because it can be deadly and/or costly if you don’t.
One common mistake if assuming that you can only be in the leftmost lane of the Autobahn when passing. It turns out that in the “unlimited” portions of the Autobahn, you have to remain in the RIGHTMOST lane unless you are passing someone, even if there are more than 2 lanes.

wow, that is freaky… everything you described is what I was going through (exactly!) about 6 months ago. I got married in april, and I (like you) wanted to start right away, but my husband wanted to wait a year, and that really upset me. I felt so frustrated and sad, cuz ttc was all I wanted and all I thought about, but he wouldn’t budge. and like you guys, we both have good jobs, we’re 23 and 24 (so a normal age to have a baby), but he was worried about not having time for “us” and he didn’t think we were ready (for no good reason). So, trust me I know how you feel - pissed off, like you’re mad at him but you don’t want to be mad you want to be comforting and try to change his mind, but the sucky truth is that if he’s not quite ready, you don’t want to push. In our case, we compromised, which was really really hard for me, we agreed to wait 6 months (that way I had to wait 6 months, and he would agree to 6 months earlier than he would have originally planned). It gave him time to get used to the idea of being a dad and parenting and I think it helped him realize that life won’t be worse off with a kid, now he’s really excited and we’ve just started trying and he’s better off having had 6 months, that he felt he needed. I know it won’t be easy for you having to wait - I felt so impatient and mad sometimes, but if he needs the time - give it to him!! otherwise, he may resent having a baby or feel rushed and pressured and it could cause arguments. Good-luck, try to be patient with your hubby, i bet he’s a great guy who’s just a little scared and could just use a little longer to get used to the idea!! as long as you’ve made yourself clear that it is important to you and that he needs to be willing to compromise, otherwise your feelings are just neglected, then you guys can talk about come up with a good time that works for you both!!

Are Queen the rock equivalent of Abba?

I’m from America and most Americans do not realize just how popular Abba are/were in every other country in the world! Abba were never as popular in the states because they didn’t tour here in the 70s. They didn’t tour because, while they were having endless number one hits throughout the world, American radio just would not play them until just before they broke up. Yes, Abba are/were as popular as Queen and everywhere in the world (except USA) people know this. In 2000, Abba were offered ONE BILLION dollars to do ONE SHOW. They turned it down because they don’t need the money and 2 members can’t stand the other 2 members…lol Abba being as popular as Queen doesn’t take anything away from Queen. It’s quiet alright to love them both.
So No this was not a stupid question. Just some unknowledgable Americans who don’t know their music history. So maybe they’ll look it up now and get the facts instead of being ’self-centered and thinking the whole world evolves around the USA…lol I’m American and proud but GEEZ, I know there are other countries. Other bands. Just because something’s not popular here, doesn’t mean it’s not popular somewhere else. That’s just ignorant thinking but maybe… oops… sorry… didn’t mean to rant ;P

This quote from Wikipedia can get you started:
Corporate governance is the set of processes, customs, policies, laws and institutions affecting the way a corporation is directed, administered or controlled. Corporate governance also includes the relationships among the many stakeholders involved and the goals for which the corporation is governed. The principal stakeholders are the shareholders, management and the board of directors. Other stakeholders include employees, suppliers, customers, banks and other lenders, regulators, the environment and the community at large.
Corporate governance is a multi-faceted subject.[1] An important theme of corporate governance is to ensure the accountability of certain individuals in an organization through mechanisms that try to reduce or eliminate the principal-agent problem. A related but separate thread of discussions focus on the impact of a corporate governance system in economic efficiency, with a strong emphasis on shareholders welfare. There are yet other aspects to the corporate governance subject, such as the stakeholder view and the corporate governance models around the world (see section 9 below).
There has been renewed interest in the corporate governance practices of modern corporations since 2001, particularly due to the high-profile collapses of a number of large U.S. firms such as Enron Corporation and Worldcom. In 2002, the US federal government passed the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, intending to restore public confidence in corporate governance.
